Iago Corazza

A lifelong journey

Iago Corazza journalist, director, but primarily photographer and traveler, started his first collaboration with a major photo agency in Bologna when he was only 15 years old. His passion for travel then led him all around Europe and Africa, first as traveler and then as guide. His spectacular publications and reportage, have been realized even as documentaries all over Europe, Africa (Algeria, Benin, Botswana, Burkina Faso, Cameroon, Egypt, Ethiopia, Kenya, Lesotho, Libya, Mali, Morocco, Namibia, Niger, Nigeria, Senegal, South Africa, Sudan, Swaziland, Tanzania, Togo, Tunisia, Zambia, Zimbabwe); Asia (Saudi Arabia, Borneo, Cambodia, China, South Korea, Japan, India, Indonesia, Iran, Irian Jaya, Yemen, Kuwait, Mongolia, Myanmar, Nepal, Russia, Sulawesi, Thailand, Turkmenistan, Uzbekistan, Vietnam); North America (Canada, Mexico, Alabama, Alaska, Arizona, Arkansas, California, Colorado, Florida, Georgia, Idaho, Kansas, Louisiana, Mississippi, Missouri, Nevada, New Jersey, New York, New Mexico, Ohio, Oklahoma, Oregon, Texas, Utah, Washington); Central America (Belize, El Salvador, Guatemala, Honduras); South America (Argentina, Bolivia, Brazil, Chile, Ecuador, the Galapagos Islands, Paraguay, Easter Island, Peru); and Oceania (Australia, Papua New Guinea, New Zealand, New Caledonia, Vanuatu, Tonga, Rarotonga).
For cinema and television he also created documentary series, commercials spot, short films, monographies and valuable musical television programs, as Mi Ritorni in Mente (RaiUno), Help (TMC2), and Roxy Bar (MTV), receiving the Italian television award Telegatto three times.
He collaborated with Luciano Pavarotti for Pavarotti and Friends, and as producer and songwriter for various artists. Teacher of direction and photography in different professional institutions, he uses all the most advanced technologies for multimedia production (Inter F.C., West Union, Collection M. M., Bologna Fiere, Fierarredo, ArteFiera, Eima). In collaboration with Columbia America and Ferrino, he designed ExplorerCafe.net, a key web portal for travelers around the world. Then with Collection Eventi & Produzioni Tv he produced events showed on the greater Italian broadcasting stations, such as Sfilata d’Amore e Moda (Rete 4), Watershow Premio Civitas with Sophia Loren (Rai 2, primetime), Gran Galà del Benessere, Crossroads, D’estate Caserta, Fashion Circus, Watershow (Rai 1, primetime), and more.
In 2002, he completed an unprecedented 64,680 km (40,190 miles) expedition around the world, defined by CNN as “unique and absolutely unrepeatable”, followed by major newspapers and television stations around the world, recounted in two volumes and 35 television episodes.
In 2004, along with Rhett Turner, he realized a documentary on Verrocchio for CNN Turner Classic Movies, which was awarded with the Telly Award for culture in the United States, one of the highest award in the television sector. In 2005, again with Turner, for the High Museum of Atlanta he realized a documentary film on architect Renzo Piano. Among his many television appearances, he appeared on the Maurizio Costanzo Show, on TG5, on Tutte le Mattine, and many other. Chairman of the anthropology section for the magazine Oasis, he has dozens of editorial publications with various significant publishing houses, including White Star and National Geographic, for whom he realized few anthropological monographies, such as “The Last Man”, on the last anthropophagous tribes of New Guinea, “Japan, light and shadows in the land of the rising sun” which examines the contrasts of Japanese society, “This is my home” a journey through the evolution of human spaces, “People at work” the art of living, “Invisible Peoples” a journey amongst the minorities of the world and their habits, “Romania, a Europe’s secret gem” and and with National Geographic a series of highly successful special photography manuals. Last, but not least, “Khajouraho” and “Ellora” edit by Five Continents and Gilles Béguin’s words. In 2019 he conceived and develop Skua Nature Group, an important and international network for the environment and animals conservation, and collaborated at Tecla project, of Mario Cucinella, a revolutionary architectural solution for the future of living. Testimonial for Emergency and UNICEF, with whom develops fascinating projects dedicated to children and childhood. He teaches photography thanks to special courses and intensive workshops he has developed in Italy and in the most evocative places in the world.
